Recommended Canvas Notification Settings

In order to receive emails regarding Canvas notifications, you must first manually confirm your email within Canvas. Please review our Confirming Email Notifications guide to check that your email address is confirmed or how to confirm it, if needed

It’s important to adjust your Canvas email notifications so you don’t miss important updates related to your courses. We recommend changing these notifications to “Notify me immediately”:

For students

 

Under the "Course Activities" heading

  • Announcement
  • Grading
  • Submission Comment 

Under the "Conversations" heading 

  • Added to Conversation
  • Conversation Message

Under the "Scheduling" heading

  • Calendar 
For faculty and staff

 

Under the "Course Activities" heading

  • Late Grading
  • Submission Comment

Under the "Conversations" heading 

  • Added to Conversation
  • Conversation Message

Under the "Scheduling" heading

  • Student Appointment Signups
  • Calendar 

Under the "Alerts" heading

  • Contact Link Error
