Overview
All classrooms on campus are equipped with the standard adapter cables needed to connect your laptop to the classroom audiovisual (AV) system. If you would like to use your own laptop while teaching, please follow the steps below to connect your device.
Steps
Connect Your Laptop
- Locate the display cable on the instructor's desk.
- Connect the cable to your laptop using the appropriate adapter, if needed (HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, USB-C, etc.).
Display Your Laptop
- Tap the touch panel on the instructor's desk to wake the controls.
- Select HDMI / Laptop.
Your laptop screen will appear on the classroom projector, back TV (if your classroom has one) and instructor monitor.
Temporarily Hide Your Presentation
If you need to prepare your presentation before displaying it to the class:
- Tap Projector Mute on the touch panel.
- The projector image will be hidden while you continue working.
- Tap Projector Mute again when you're ready to resume presenting.
If the projector or display remains black after selecting HDMI / Laptop, please contact the IT Office at x1600 and we would be happy to assist you.
When You're Finished
To properly shut down the classroom AV system, press the Power button on the touch panel before leaving the classroom. This helps prevent issues for the next faculty to use the classroom, as well as preserves the longevity of the classroom projectors.
