Introduction to Ares - For Students

Ares

Ares is the name of the system where your course readings are located. Before the start of the semester, your instructor may upload assigned course readings to Ares. To access course readings, you must do so through the Ares link in the Canvas left-hand menu of your course page. It will automatically log you into Ares that way.

Below are two short videos that will show you how to navigate Ares and some optional features.

Having trouble with Ares?

You must access Ares through your course page in Canvas. Using a bookmark or direct URL may cause an error.

When you click the Ares link in Canvas, you will be logged in automatically and will not be prompted to sign in. However, when you open a specific course reading, such as an article or eBook, you may be asked to authenticate. If so, you will be redirected to the OneLogin page, where you can sign in with your credentials.
